This research is aims to develop alternative design solutions which can be implemented within the current Canadian building code as well as appropriate education to train engineers to perform performance based designs. Two student trainees are participating. Various industry supporters are advising in-kind including the global engineering consultancy firm Entuitive (our collaboration is described here). The project is financed by a CISC-ICCA (Canadian Institute of Steel Construction) grant multi year running until 2018, which is helping the facilitation of the students studying this topic.
